The SIAM Student Chapter at U-M is holding the SIAM Student Conference in Applied Math on Saturday, November 13th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in East Hall. The goal of the conference is to connect U-M students who create and/or use novel mathematical methods in their research. The conference will include keynote presentations by Professors Peter Miller (Math) and Ian Hiskens (EECS), as well as student talks related to the application of mathematics to the following subjects:

  • mechanical engineering,
  • electrical engineering,
  • mathematical finance,
  • industrial and operations engineering,
  • probability,
  • control theory,
  • fluid dynamics,
  • complex systems.
